Thinking about age and social media

I was moderating an interesting discusion on age and social media this week at PRCamp. It was actually suppoed to be Brian there representing gen x’ers, but I filled in and we had two representing gen y’ers. The conversation was about who controls social media and also if you have gen y’ers running a program who does it effect your corporate culture and also public image of your brand. We got to talking a lot about the need for “cross training” or “reverse mentoring”. I think we all have a lot to learn from one another. Though it may typlically be thought that it is just younger generations that a on to new technologies I think it is also important to realize that it is not so defined by age by also by openess to change and adoption of new strategies. There is an interesting thing that is happening now within corporate cultures as different people in different levels of organizations adopt new tools and tactics. I’m not sire what my take home point here is, other than to say that I find it a fascinaing time and it was very interesting to hear about how these themes are playing out in other organizations in a similar way to how it is playing out in ours. What do you think?

Kata Mejia - Forty Weeks

These are photographs I took last night of Kata Mejia’s preformance in the LAB Gallery called Forty Weeks. Her work is always very moving and it is always quite an expirience to document. Her movements are so subtle, meditative and powerful. It well be great to see as the space evolves throughout the week.
